Removing teeth is never our first choice. But there are instances when it is necessary to extract a tooth. Consult with us to see if we can save your tooth.

The following are reasons why we might recommend a tooth extraction:

Is tooth extraction painful?

We understand that a tooth extraction can be a frightening experience. That’s why we strive to offer a comfortable experience and make sure you’re as relaxed as possible. Tooth extractions are usually performed under local anesthesia, which numbs the area of the mouth where the tooth extraction will take place. A small amount of pressure may be applied to the tooth to help loosen it before removal. But don’t worry, this should not hurt!

What to expect after your tooth is removed

After surgery, you may experience some bleeding and swelling. Discomfort is normal. It’s best to take a painkiller to help with the pain. Your socket will heal in 6 weeks. Leave the socket alone for a few days. Don’t touch it or disturb it in any way during this time. In order to minimize discomfort after surgery, we recommend taking ibuprofen before and after your procedure.
